11-year-old boy stripped, tied upside down, brutally thrashed by father for stealing wheat in UP

A shocking incident took place in Uttar Pradesh’s village as a 11-year-old boy was allegedly stripped, tied upside down and brutally thrashed by his for stealing a small quantity of wheat from home to get sweets in exchange from a shop on Friday evening.

It is reported that the neighbours did not came up to rescue the child while he was being brutally beaten up by his father.

However, some of them filmed the incident and posted videos on social media platforms. Soon, a video went viral and caught the police’s attention. Subsequently, the accused, identified as Guddu Khan (45), was arrested from his house in Mewali village, which falls under the territorial limits of Jagner Police Station, on Saturday.

Ravi Kumar, Additional Superintendent of Police (Agra West), told The Times of India, that they have sent the minor boy for conducting a medical examination. Kumar added that further action will be taken after recording the affected child’s statement.

Meanwhile, neighbours revealed that Khan had tortured the child after he stole some wheat. The also claimed that he had also poured hot water on the boy.

The arrested accused told the police that he wasn’t drunk at the time of the incident. Three days ago, his wife had left for her sister’s place after fighting with him over some issue. He added that he got filled with rage over the behaviour of his son and therefore, he thrashed him.

Based on the viral video, the accused has been booked under Section 15 (punishment for cruelty to child) of the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015 and section 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code.

In another incident, a woman murdered her three-year-old son and then jumped off to her death from the terrace of her house in Telangana’s Hyderabad last month. The now-deceased child had eyesight issues and his father had spent around Rs 20 lakh for treatment but there was no improvement.
