Aligarh: The internet ban across the district was lifted following an order passed on Wednesday by the District Megistrate of Aligarh suspended the services in the district from 2 PM, 13 February 2019 to 14 February noon.

The decision to ban the internet was taken following the alleged clash between Republic TV crew members and students of Aligarh Muslim University. The order had read, “There is a possibility of social media be used to soread misinformation, which could disrupt the public order.”

On Tuesday, Aligarh Muslim University students had entered into an scuffle with the crew of Republic TV channel, following which the students claimed that the reports were shooting at the campus without any prior permission and that they made objectionable comment.

Two separate complaints have been filled in the matter.
