Jharkhand to release 221 prisoners serving life term

Jharkhand chief minister and BJP leader, Raghubar Das is in the center of a fresh controversy because of a sting operation. A video released by former chief minister and Jharkhand Vikas Morcha head, Babulal Marandi shows Das discussing the “managing” of MLAs in the June 11 Rajya Sabha polls.

This sting operation, is allegedly from 10th June where a meeting took place between CM Raghubar Das and former Congress minister Yogendra Sao just a day before the 11 June Rajya Sabha polls.  Interestingly, both the BJP candidates fielded in Jharkhand won in their respective areas.

The video footage clearly shows, a conversation where Yogendra Sao is seen lamenting about the numerous cases against him when Raghubar Das urges Jharkhand Additional Director General of police, Anurag Gupta to clear “all cases against him in lieu of votes”. Sao is being asked to “give” his wife’s share of votes to the BJP candidate. Sao’s wife Nirmala Devi is a Congress MLA from the Barkagaon constituency in the state. Asking “problem nahi karenge na? (You won’t cause any trouble right)” Raghubar inquires about various “rates” including “commercial rates,” “star rates” etc to clear cases against him.

Meanwhile the BJP has named this as a “political conspiracy” and have refused every allegation whereas, Babulal Marandi has asked for Raghubar Das’ resignation on “moral grounds.”
