Punjab: 26-year-old man shot dead by ex-army man after argument on Facebook

A shocking incident came into light as a youth was shot dead by an ex-army man after an argument on social media platform Facebook.

Police said the incident was shot on a mobile phone by the victim.

The 26-year-old victim has been identified as Sukhchain Singh. According to reports, the incident took place in Tarn Taran district of Punjab on Tuesday. The victim’s father runs a chemist shop in Killa Kavi Santokh Singh village.

Recently, the accused Jasbir Singh had an argument with Sukhchain Singh after the former posted comments against the victim’s family for allegedly selling drugs at their chemist shop.

The victim had denied allegations by Jasbir Singh and asked him not to post anything against his family but the accused did not budge.

The argument escalated on Tuesday as Jasbir Singh shot Sukhchain. The victim dies shortly after he was admitted to the district hospital.

The video recorded by the victim purportedly shows the accused Jasbir with a rifle as the two sides hurl abuses.

After the argument, the accused loaded his double-barreled rifle and shot the man recording the video.

Meanwhile, police have filed a case against the accused who is still absconding.
