PUSU election result: Chhatra JDU wins President & Treasurer post, ABVP wins rest three

Patna: Patna University Students’ Union (PUSU) Election result is out and Chhatra Janata Dal-United (CJDU) won the President seat with 1203 vote’s margin. CJDU also managed to win the Treasurer seat. Manikant Mani and Raja Ravi from ABVP won the post of General Secretary & Joint Secretary respectively.

Mohit Prakash won the president seat, while Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Anjana Singh won the Vice-President seat. Kumar Satyam from JDU is elected as Treasurer.

Mohit defeated his counterpart Abhinav Kumar of ABVP by a margin of over thousand votes. Mohit got 3477 votes, Abhinav managed to get 2266, while left backed Bhagya Bharti got 1940 vote after the final counting.

Apart from President and Treasurer seat, ABVP won the rest three central panel seat including VP, General Secretary, and Joint Secretary.

Left supported students’ organization did manage to open their account in councilor seat, who claimed to have a significant presence in the Patna University campus. All India Students’ Association (AISA), All India Students’ Federation (AISF), and Chhatra Rashtriya Janata Dal (CRJD) fought this election in an alliance and managed to win only 4 councilor posts.

out of 24 councilor seats CJDU managed to win 4 seats, 2 unopposed from Patna Women’s College and one each from Magadh Mahila College and Patna Law College.

Chhatra JDU state vice president Vikas Kumar speaking with Newsd gave all the credit for this victory to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar image and newly elected Vice President Prashant Kishor’s election strategy.

He said, ” PK’s strategy was very crucial and it was missing ever since, also our state president Shyam Patel leadership is key behind this success.”

Vikas further added that a victory march is scheduled later in the day.

Ramvilas Paswan’s Loktantrik Janata Party student wing CLJP managed to win 2 councilor seats.

ABVP won only 3 councilors while independent candidate won the highest 8 seats.
