Special help for People Affected by Flooding
The PFD Division has created special plans to make sure people still get their checks even if local post offices are closed. Places like Kipnuk, Kwigillingok, and Napakiak had to shut down post offices because of severe flooding. To help, the state set up new ways for people to receive their mail.
Families who left their homes and are now staying in Anchorage shelters can pick up their USPS mail at the Egan Center Mail Unit at 555 West 5th Avenue. This location will hold mail for displaced residents until they can return home.

Who receives the $1,000 stimulus payment on Thursday, November 20?
The payments are divided into three installments, the first being on November 20 and the others in December and January 2026:
- Requests for dividends for 2025 (and earlier years) that are in “Eligible-Unpaid” status on November 12, 2025 will be distributed on November 20, 2025.
- Requests for dividends for 2025 (and earlier years) that are in “Eligible-Unpaid” status on December 10, 2025, will be distributed on December 18, 2025.
- Dividend requests for 2025 (and earlier years) that are in “Eligible-Unpaid” status on January 7, 2026 will be distributed on January 15, 2026.
Who can Get the $1,000 Payment?
To get the 2025 PFD a person has to follow several rules about living in Alaska.
- They must have lived in the state for all of 2024.
- They must also plan to stay in Alaska for the long term when they fill out the application.
- Anyone who was gone from Alaska for more than 180 days might not qualify unless the time away counts as an “allowable absence.”
- People with serious criminal convictions also do not qualify.
- The rules say the person must not have been sentenced or jailed for a major crime.
