In a disgraceful incident, a 12-year-old minor girl was allegedly raped on Tuesday in the West Vihar area of Delhi. The girl has been admitted to the All Indian Institute of Medical Sciences(AIIMS), Delhi.
According to the police officials, the girl was found in a blood-soaked situation and was immediately admitted to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital on Tuesday evening. The girl kept bleeding continuously and deep wounds have been found all over her body.
Sanjay Gandhi’s doctors referred the victim to AIIMS. While she is being treated, the girl’s condition remains critical.
A case under relevant sections of the IPC and POCSO Act has been registered. However, the culprits are yet to be identified.
Recently, a 40-year-old man was arrested for allegedly abducting and raping a minor girl in North Delhi’s Sadar Bazaar area. The eight-year-old girl was sleeping with her grandmother outside their house when the accused took her to a nearby place and raped her.
According to the police, when the girl’s grandmother woke up and did not find the child, she alerted a family member. Though the girl returned to the house, she started bleeding the next morning. The family then rushed her to a hospital and informed the police.
The police said Sudama was under the influence of alcohol when he committed the crime. A case under IPC section 363 (Punishment for kidnapping), 376 (Punishment for rape) and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was registered against the accused, they added.
