In yet another spine-chilling violence against a minor in Jharkhand a 25-year-old man raped and killed a 3-year-old girl on Sunday. The accused Bandhan Oraon was a neighbour of the innocent victim and is absconding after the crime police said on Monday.
The heinous crime took place when the girl’s parents had gone to the market and the child was playing outside her home on Sunday evening at Kolhutoli village in Gumla district of Jharkhand. While playing, the girl child went to the house of Oraon. He was alone then since his wife had gone to her in-laws to celebrate tribal festival Karma.
When the parents returned back home at night, Oraon told them that the girl was sleeping at his home. The parents carried the girl back home only to discover that the girl is bleeding as her clothes were stained with blood. Finding that the girl is bleeding from her private parts, the parents informed villagers.
However, Oraon managed to escape after the villagers tried to catch hold of him. Later they informed police on Monday morning and sent the child’s body for autopsy. According to the doctors, the child was raped and sexually assaulted. The post-mortem report is yet to come. However, an FIR has been registered in connection to the incident said Anshuman Kumar, Superintendent of Police.
