We all believe some alcohol myths which makes us feel like fools. We have been listening and sharing myths about alcohol with our friends and elders for many years. Here’s all you need to know:

Myth 1: You can have one drink per hour and still be sober

Reality: Your body needs more than one hour to take out all the alcohol from your system, drinking one drink after another makes you quite intoxicated. People who drink one drink in one hour and then next drink in another hour also get equally drunk and should not consider driving as they are not sober and there is enough alcohol in their body. It’s better to call an Ola or Uber.

Myth 2: Beer before liquor makes you feel sick

Reality: one should note that it’s not the type of alcohol that matters but the quantity. Still, the order or type of alcohol you drink isn’t the most important factor; it’s how much you drink—and if you’re drinking on an empty stomach.

Myth 3: Darker drinks are healthier

Reality: Darker drinks like red wine, whiskey, and others have more chemicals that are beneficial to the body but they contain more toxic chemicals that are worse for the hangovers.

It should be noted that dark alcohol drinks protect you against many diseases, cancer, and other possible illnesses but can make your hangover worse than lighter ones.

Myth 4: Coffee can sober you up quickly

Reality: Caffeine whether from coffee or energy drinks does absolutely nothing to help your body process alcohol more quickly. In fact, it can make you feel more alert or trigger your brain but it doesn’t make you sober. It’s just to boost your energy.

Myth 5: You can throw up to sober up

Reality: The best way not to feel sick when drinking alcohol is not to over drink. Some people feel throwing up will make you feel better but that’s not how it works because the body absorbs the alcohol content really fast.
