Bhopal is all set to host another glamorous event after IIFA awards, which were announced in a mega event at Bhopal. Now the government will host a grand musical event, `Indian Idol’, in the state capital later this month.
The state public relations minister, PC Sharma, on Thursday said, “Mere announcement of the International IIFA Awards has given a boost to the state’s tourism industry. The government will now host a musical extravaganza, Indian Idol, in Bhopal. The mega event will be held on February 20 at TT Nagar stadium.”
“MP had been known for Bhopal gas tragedy till now. Hosting IIFA here will give a global status to the culturally rich state and the heart of ‘Incredible India’. This function is going to provide a new identity to MP,” Nath had said during the announcement of IIFA, on February 3.
Minister Sharma said that the forthcoming musical event is also focused on giving a major boost to the tourism sector as music lovers from across the world would choose MP to witness such gala events.
“It will be the 11th grand finale of the contest, where 15 finalists will perform before the public in the presence of celebrities, including Himesh Reshammiya, Neha Kakkar and Vishal Dadlani,” said Sharma.
For the uninitiated, earlier, BJP has, however, dubbed the move as misuse of government funds.
