The plane travelling from Mumbai to Newark in the US was forced to make a “precautionary landing” at Stansted Airport after Royal Air Force Typhoon fighter jets scrambled to intercept the plane.

According to London Stansted Airport “an Air India Boeing 777 diverted into London Stansted Airport at approximately 10:155 hrs and landed safely with Essex Police in attendance.”
“It is parked on an isolated stand away from the normal airport operations,” a London Stansted Airport tweet read.
