In a promotional interview for her film, Jawaani Jaaneman, Alaya had revealed that her first celebrity crush was Hrithik Roshan and when asked to describe dating with one word, she had said, “fun”.
A few weeks before her Bollywood debut, the reports of her dating Aaishvary Thackeray, grandson of Bal Thackeray, had emerged in the media.
In October 2020, Aaishvary Thackeray turned a year older and ringed in his birthday in Dubai with his friends, including the rumoured girlfriend, Alaya Furniturewalla. Aaishvary’s mother, Smita Thackeray posted a video on her IG feed, from the celebrations of her son’s birthday and mentioned in the caption that Alaya was present at the bash.
On August 17, 2020, Smita Thackeray had posted a collage of pictures with her son, Aaishvary Thackeray, one had a bouquet of flowers sent by Rahul Thackeray and a hugging picture with Alaya Furniturewalla.
For the uninitiated, Alaya Furniturewalla had made her Bollywood debut with Jawaani Jaaneman in 2020 and the special screening of the film was attended by her grandfather, Kabir Bedi, parents, Pooja Bedi and Farhan Furniturewalla, with their respective spouses.
The special screening of the film was also attended by Alaya’s rumoured beau, Aaishvary Thackeray.
