Delhi’s deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia on Saturday announced all examinations, including final exams, to be conducted in university’s under the city-state’s government stand cancelled in the wake of Covid-19 crisis.
The minister added that degrees will be awarded to students on the basis of evaluation parameters decided by the universities.
In a statement, the deputy Delhi Chief Minister said that the degree will be awarded to the students based on the evaluation parameters decided by the respective universities.
“Delhi government has decided to cancel all Delhi state university exams including final exams in view of COVID-19. The degree will be awarded based on evaluation parameters decided by the universities,” news agency ANI quoted Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia as saying.
The decision has been take in wake of the coronavirus crisis in the national capital. According to the latest information available at the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the dreadful COVID-19 infection, caused by SARS‑CoV‑2, has affected over 1.09 lakh people in Delhi and claimed 3,300 lives so far.
Meanwhile, the Delhi University had earlier announced that it has decided to cancel the exams for the students who are currently in their intermediate semesters amid the coronavirus crisis. The varsity had said that students will be graded on the basis of their internal assessment and their performance in the previous semester.
