Country music legend Kenny Rogers has died, aged 81. He died at the home of “natural causes” at 10.25 pm on Friday night (EDT time).
His family announced that he was “under the care of hospice and surrounded by his family”.
Taking to his twitter, they wrote, “The Rogers family is sad to announce that Kenny Rogers passed away last night at 10:25 PM at the age of 81. Rogers passed away peacefully at home from natural causes under the care of hospice and surrounded by his family.”

The family said they are planning a small private service, rather than a large gathering, due to the ongoing Covid-19 crisis. They will plan a larger celebration for both his fans and his friends at a later date.
For those unaware, the star, who called Atlanta, Georgia home, had a career that spanned six decades. His chart-topping hits included Islands in the Stream, The Gambler, Lady, Lucille and She Believes in Magic.
He had a total of 24 number-one hits and won the CMA Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013.
