Gandhinagar, May 18 (IANS) Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani announced on Monday that N95 and triple-layered masks will be available at Amul parlours across the state at affordable prices.

There are around 1,600 Amul parlours across the state, and all these will now be selling the much-needed N95 masks and triple-layered masks, as wearing of masks was made mandatory in the state since the lockdown was imposed on March 25 to curb the spread of coronavirus.

“Wearing of masks at public places is compulsory. Looking at this mandate, and to avail the masks easily, the Gujarat government has made provisions. The N95 masks and the triple-layered mask will be sold at Amul parlours. The N95 mask will be available at Rs 65 and the triple-layered mask will be available at Rs 5 at all the Amul parlours in the state. In the first phase, the selling of masks will be carried out in Ahmedabad and gradually all across the state,” Rupani said.

The CM also announced the provisions of the Lockdown 4.0, which will be in effect from Tuesday in Gujarat. According to the provisions, the relaxations depend on whether and an area falls in a containment zone or not.

For the containment zones, there won’t be any relaxation except the availability of essentials between 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Whereas the areas outside containment zones, normal activities have been allowed.

The government has decided to restart state transport bus services except in Ahmedabad and Surat city. It has also decided to permit the autos to operate in the areas outside containment zones provided they carry a maximum of two passengers.

Shopping malls and commercial centres will be allowed to function but only on the odd- even formula. Marriage functions will also be allowed with the maximum of 50 invitees. The government has also allowed for the roadside eateries/’dhabas’ to operate. Private offices in the state have also been permitted to operate with up to 80 per cent staff capacity.
