Anantnag Lok Sabha Constituency, Jammu & Kashmir: Current MP, Candidates, Polling Date and Election Results

Anantnag  is a constituency in Jammu and Kashmir and will go for polls in the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2019 on Tuesday, April 23. The elections in the constituency is taking place across three phases. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Mehbooba Mufti is representing the PDP, while BJP has fielded Sofi Youssaf. Congress has put Ghulam Ahmad Mir, while the Jammu Kashmir National Conference has fielded Hasnain Masoodi.

In 2014, Mehbooba Muft iof the PDP had defeated JKN candidate Mirza Mehboob Beg by more than 65 thousand votes getting 53.41% vote share to JKN’ 35.98%.

Anantnag Lok Sabha constituency comprises of following Vidhan Sabha (legislative assembly) segments: Tral, Pampore, Pulwama, Rajpora, Wachi, Shopian, Noorabad, Kulgam, Homshalibug, Anantnag, Devsar, Doru, Kokarnag, Shangas, Bijbehara, Pahalgam

In Phase III of the voting for the 17th Lok Sabha, elections will take place in 115 Lok Sabha constituencies across 14 states. Voting for this phase will take place on April 23. While, like all the other phases, counting will take place on May 23.

Along with Lok Sabha Elections, voting will also take place for the third phase of Odisha Assembly Elections 2019. The turnout in the last general election in 2014 was more than 66%, up from 45% in 1951 when the first election was held.
