In a terrifying incident, two youth in a car on their way from Kadapa to Bijapur in Karnataka got washed away at a culvert near Rajapuram in Anantapur district. The youth has been identified as Rakesh and Yousuf. The video of the incident went viral on social media.

In the video, the car was following an RTC bus between Gooty and Guntakal. The bus suddenly stopped even as their vehicle crossed mid-way into the stream. With water flowing dangerously of the stream with force, the car floated and got washed away to about 100 meters. Since the place was shallow the car was not wholly submerged and the youths managed to get out of the vehicle.

The heavy rainfall in Anantpur district has resulted in overflowing of ponds and rivers in the area. A few days back, a man got washed away for 2 kilometers who tried to cross the national highway near the Rajapuram village of Gooty Mandal. However, the locals rescued him. The people formed a chain with the help of a rope to carry out the rescue measure.
