In yet another shameful and brutal act in India, a 19-year-old Dalit woman from Uttar Pradesh succumbed to injuries at a hospital in New Delhi after she was allegedly gang-raped by four upper-caste men in Hathras district on September 14.
The four accused had allegedly dragged her into a field, and then raped and assaulted her. They left her grievously injured and unconscious. According to the police, the accused had strangled the woman with her dupatta, damaging her spinal cord and neck. She allegedly bit her tongue off too while trying to resist the assault.
Soon after the news broke out, the netizens on social media and the microblogging site, Twitter have expressed their outrage and their deep disappointment from the authorities. Twitter has been swamped with the Tweets demanding justice for the victim who lost her life in the brutal act.
Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut and several other dignitaries demanded justice for the deceased.
Shoot these rapists publicly, what is the solution to these gang rapes that are growing in numbers every year? What a sad and shameful day for this country. Shame on us we failed our daughters #RIPManishaValmiki

The little girl aged just 19 was gang raped and sadly she has succumbed to death. The accused are in custody. I am broken and all I ask for is immediate justice. Justice delayed is justice denied. Let’s take some time to pray for the girl. #HangTheRapists #RIPManishaValmiki

Everytime A Girl Is Been Raped And Then People Shout For Justice And After Few Days Everything Gets Normal.
Because Our Government Delays Justice #RIPManishaValmiki

Gangrαped, tongue cut, spine broken, deαd.
Everyday we have a new Manisha.
Not even one govt gives exemplary punishment to rαpists to create fear.
Not even one court does speedy justice.
People outrage only when rαpist is not of own religion.
What to expect?#RIPManishaValmiki pic.twitter.com/RLA5uAs0BS
