Anti-CAA protest: Jamia Millia Islamia semester exams to begin from January 9

Jamia is scheduled to open and began classes on January 6 after winter vacation.

The Jamia Millia Islamia has formally declared that the semester examinations will begin from January 9, 2020. Due to the protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act that turned out violent outside the Jamia campus, the varsity was closed from mid-December and declared vacation till January 5. All exams have also cancelled in view of the tense situation.

Jamia is scheduled to open and began classes on January 6 after winter vacation.

The remaining odd-semester exams for the postgraduate courses will start from January 9. Most of the undergraduate exam courses shall start from January 16, the varsity said.

As per the schedule date of the exam, the students appearing for odd-semester examinations are recommended to come accordingly, it said.

“The parents are requested to ensure that their wards appear for the examination on the given date.

“The students are also advised to regularly visit the official websites www.jmi.ac.in and www.jmicoe.in for updates to avoid any confusion arising due to rumours and wrong communication on social media,” it said.

The varsity added, students can also call ‘Jamia Help Desk’ number 011-26981717 with extension 1408 and 7647989611 from 10:00 am to 5.00 pm for any query or confusion related to the examination schedule.

The varsity added that cases of serious hospitalization / medical reasons will be handled separately. The teaching schedule for the next semester in all faculties and centres for even semester shall be notified faculty-wise on the website separately.
