Itanagar: Ahead of the upcoming simultaneous Lok Sabha and assembly elections which are to take place on April 11 in Arunachal Pradesh, Congress party received a major boost on Tuesday with senior politician and sitting National People’s Party (NPP) MLA Tanga Byaling joining the party along several other top politicians of the state.

Byaling, in 2014 Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly polls was elected unopposed from Nacho seat, standing as National People’s Party (India) hope. He has been an MLA from the constituency for five terms in succession. With him, Konsa West MLA Yumsen Mate and seven others also joined the Congress party at an event organised at the Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan.

“It’s my immense pleasure to welcome Shri Tanga Byaling, Shri Rudham Sindhu, Dr.Chow Kedar Gohain, Shri Ngonglin Boi and Shri Yumsem Matey in the Congress family. They are well known and respected faces of Arunachal Pradesh and together we will build better Arunachal Pradesh,” President, Arunachal Pradesh Congress committee tweeted.

Single-phase elections in Arunachal Pradesh will take place in the first phase of the Elections, ie on April 11.
