Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal meets the family of 26-year-old Dr Anas Mujahid, a doctor who succumbed to COVID19, and hands over a cheque of Rs 1 Crore to them.

“My son was on duty & serving people when he lost his life. I hope my other children may also serve our nation”‘ says Dr Anas’ Father.

Dr Anas Mujahid, 26, was working at the GTB Hospital which has been converted into a designated Covid-19 hospital. He had completed his internship after MBBS in January.

A resident of North-East Delhi’s Bhagirathi Vihar, the 26-year-old doctor was on duty at the Ob-Gyn ward till Saturday afternoon, May 8. He got tested for the virus at 8 pm, as per an Indian Express report, and died due to intracranial bleeding around 3 am on May 9.

He had no co-morbidities, the report added.

Mujahid was known to be hardworking, the most humble and helpful person among his colleagues and juniors at the University College of Medical Sciences (UCMS) at GTB hospital. He was reporting to duty till Saturday, officials said.
