Assam: Another journalist attacked in Jorhat

The doctor said that Bora’s life is out of danger and that he is required to be kept under observation for two days

Guwahati: Rajib Bora, A local TV journalist was attacked by five persons on motorbikes on Saturday night, April 27 and received injuries. He was rushed to the Jorhat Medical College & Hospital (JMCH) for medical aid and later shifted to a private hospital.

Doctor said that Bora’s life is out of danger and that he is required to be kept under observation for two days. The victim has sustained serious head injuries and is currently in the ICU.

The police have arrested one of the five people involved in the incident. Jyoti Prasad Das, a street food vendor has been arrested, according to a GuwahatiPlus report.

This is the third such incident that has taken place in the last 5 days. Earlier, on Thursday, April 25, a group of miscreants attacked Rajen Deka who works for Dainik Assam, Nalbari and TV journalist, Upasana Barua Goswami, was also allegedly attacked by miscreants during the same day.

Various organisations in Assam staged a protest on Sunday, accusing the state government of failing to nab those involved in the attacks on journalists.
