Assam: Around 11 people has been injured after a balst took place inside one of the coaches in Kamakhya-Dekargaon Intercity Express in Udalguri.
A Northeast Frontier Railway spokesperson said, “The explosion was reported at Harisinga railway station around 7.04 pm.”
The explosion is said to be caused by a grenade or an improvised explosive device (IED). However, the actual reason behind the blast is yet to be ascertained.
Briefing the media about preliminary investigations, PRO of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), Nripen Bhattacharya said, “It hasn’t yet been confirmed whether it was bomb blast or short circuit blast. No casualties have taken place”.
