One of the most anticipated films of the year Brahmastra has created a lot of hype even before it’s release. The reason for that is the makers have kept the trail of the movie under their nose and not much have been revealed about the film.

The movie directed by Ayan Mukerji stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in lead roles is produced under Karan Johar’s Dharma Production. Earlier, the movie was slated to release around Christmas 2019 but now there is a twist that has come to the plot. The film has got a new release date and it has been postponed.

Yes, you read it right! The film will not release this year, it has been shifted to summers 2020. The director of the film Ayan Mukerji took to Instagram to announce it officially. The actor wrote a full page letter to announce it.

Being the dream project  of the director he wrote in the post “That dream is about creating a movie that offers our country something that’s really new and amazing and next level in terms of story, character, and emotions, always… but also in terms of visual and visual effect.”

“It’s been a long, long road trying to achieve this vision. When we broke the logo for Brahmastra at the Kumbh, we were excited that the end of that road was in sight…Christmas 2019…the date we announced for the release of the movie. But, in the past week, I have learned that all the teams working on the movie, lead by my VFX teams, need more time in order to get the VFX right, to get the sound, the music right, and eventually to get the film right.”

“We are moving away from Christmas 2019 as our goal for the release of the movie. Working towards that goal could affect the most important goal – which is to create the best possible movie experience that Brahmastra can be! Our release date is now slated for Summer 2020 but we will announce this officially once we are absolutely certain of the date.

Also if Brahmastra would have released around Christmas then it would have had a box office clash with Salman Khan’s Dabangg 3 which is slated to release on December 20.

The film’s logo was unveiled at Prayag’s Kumbh Mela by the lead stars of the film and it also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy and Akkineni Nagarjuna in vital roles. It is a three part series and is reportedly made on a budget of Rs 150 crores. Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor will be seen together in the movie for the first time.
