Popular model and television actress Juhi Sengupta was harassed by petrol pump staff and she took to her Facebook and narrated her ordeal to the fans. As per the actress, she was heckled by the petrol pump staff in Kolkata.
The incident took place on Sunday and the employee in question has been detained by the police after the actress filed a complaint.
Juhi Sengupta is known for her show Bhojo Gobindo alleged that when she went to the petrol pump to get her car refuelled, the staff of the misbehaved with her parents and even snatched the keys of the car.
She said “We asked the staff there to fill the tank with petrol worth Rs 1,500. However, they filled petrol worth Rs 3,000. When we asked why they did so, the staff at the pump started misbehaving with us. Suddenly one of them took the key to our car.”
“They are senior citizens. When I tried to stop them, they pushed me too. I have got scratches on my hand, but the injury is nothing compared to what my parents have gone through,” Sengupta further added.
Later Juhi filed a general diary at Kasba police station. Based on the complaint, the police detained one person who was identified as Mahesh Yadav.
“We are examining the CCTV footage and questioning the petrol pump staff. So far, we have detained one person. The investigation is on,” said an officer of Kasba police station in conversation with a news agency. No case has been registered so far.
“When questioned why they put fuel more than what was asked for, employees at the petrol pump said it was a mistake but we have to pay for the excess fuel. When my father denied, they allegedly abused my father and tried to assault him. They even took away the key to our car. It was then that I intervened and called up police dialling 100,” the actress said in an interview with the news agency.
