Bengaluru: Food delivery boy arrested for sexually harassing woman on pavement

With the help of CCTV cameras, the police tracked down the accused by identifying his bike registration number

In yet another appalling incident, a delivery boy was arrested for allegedly sexually harassing a woman at a footpath in Bengaluru. The incident happened at HSR layout on Thursday. 

The accused identified as Kiran Kumar (26) touched her inappropriately when she was walking on the pavement.

As per the victim, “The delivery boy on the motorbike came from the opposite direction and molested me. And before I could shout for help or react, he sped away. I saw him wearing a T-Shirt of a food delivery portal and had a bag with him.”

With the help of CCTV cameras, the police tracked down the accused by identifying his bike registration number. 

This is not the first incident. In another incident on July 15, a pizza delivery boy has allegedly stabbed a man to death over a petty dispute in Delhi’s Tilak Nagar area. The victim was identified as Ankit Kumar.

Police later arrested the accused and recovered a knife used in the crime. The accused was identified as Ravi Singh, a resident of Nihal Vihar in Delhi. According to police, the victim’s brother alleged that Ankit had gone to a shop to get his phone repaired but did not return till late in the night.
