But this one is indeed shocking.

The woman who has been abandon by her own son is now spending her days in an old age home.

The mother identified as Shyamala (47) was living with her only son and daughter in law at their residence in Bharthinagar.

In January 2019, she approached a private hospital as she was suffering from toothache. The doctor extracted her tooth in the process. Post the surgery, the area operated upon developed an infection. It spread and resulted in swollen pus-filled mass on her jaw. The mass developed a terrible odor in return.

After which the woman’s son and his wife started ill-treating her mother and also avoided talking to her. One day, the women’s son asked her to leave the house citing they were feeling suffocated by her bad breath. They also said her bad breath put her in a bad light in front of the guests.

The women then approached the city police’s women’s helpline and counseling center Parihar and narrated her ordeal.  The coordinates of the counseling center summoned the woman’s son and the family members but they refused to turn up. The woman too was in no mood to return home and requested for an alternative arrangement.

The helpline sent her to a shelter home thinking she will get medical support but other inmates also raised issue stating that it was causing the unpleasant smell and there were chances of them getting infected.

When the woman didn’t find any shelter, Shyamala returned to the women’s helpline. With the help of the police, her son was tracked and following a stern warning, he promised to treat her mother but set a few conditions which included that she had to hand over monthly pension to him.

Shyamala did not agree to his conditions and seek the help of police officers who then took her to an old age home where she is staying currently.

The police made several attempts to convince both of them to come to a compromise but they did not relent.
