Bengaluru: Unable to cure migrane, doctor kills mother & sister; attempts suicide later

A 43-year-old doctor identified as Govinda Prakash, allegedly killed his mother and sister by administering them an insulin overdose and attempted to commit suicide in the same manner on Saturday morning. As per the many reports, a purported suicide note revealed that the doctor could not find the cure for the migrane and was upset at the disorder running in the family, which made take the extreme step.

Prakash killed his mother Mookambika, 78, and sister S Shyamala 46 at their residence in Ideal Home Township. The incident came to light on Saturday morning when Prakash’s father sleeping in another room, woke up to find three lying motionless bodies. He immediately alerted his relatives and friends.

Police said a doctor known to the family rushed there. He said the women had died but Prakash was still alive. While the bodies were shifted to Victoria Hospital, Prakash was taken to a nearby hospital.
