Vicky Kaushal’s debut in the haunted film has turned out to be a bad experience as the film did not do well in the theatres and thus became a failure for him. The film collected Rs Rs 2.1 crore on Tuesday and is not making any further growth in it.
The Haunted Ship opened with a decent number and collected Rs 5.1 crore. It saw negligible improvement on Saturday and Sunday as it earned Rs 5.52 crore and Rs 5.74 crore, respectively. The collection further dropped on Monday as the film minted Rs 2.32 crore. On Tuesday, it earned Rs 2.1 crore taking the total collection of the film to Rs 20.78 crore till now.
The film did not receive good reviews from the film critics and audiences alike with many declaring it a snooze fest.
Bhoot Part One: The Haunted Ship features a haunted ship named Seabird, abandoned years ago. Vicky plays the role of Prithvi, who investigates the ship and unravels its so-called ‘mystery’. In a cameo appearance, Bhumi Pednekar plays Vicky’s wife.
The film is directed by Bhanu Pratap Singh and he made his horror film debut with it, the film is produced by Karan Johar. Vicky was appreciated for his performance in the film but it is the slow pace of the film and lack of scary scenes that have worked against it.
