In a tragic incident, at least 11 people drowned to death while five were rescue at Khatlapura Ghat in Bhopal after the boat they were in capsized this morning during Ganesh immersion.
As per the reports so far, the incident happened at around 4.30 on Friday morning when two boats joined together to keep the entire load afloat at Ghat, couldn’t take the weight and capsized.
Search operation is underway. At least 40 police personnel are present at the spot along with other authorities and professional swimmers. Bodies of the 11 people have been recovered.
An ex-gratia of Rs four lakh has been announced by the district collector for the families of those who drowned and died during the Ganesh immersion in Bhopal on Friday morning.
