Bihar: 14-year-old gangraped for two days after fleeing home due to stepmother behaviour

A 14-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped for two consecutive days at brick kiln in western Patna. Based on the complaint filed, police arrested four people, including a woman on Saturday.

The incident took place in Vyapur village within the territorial jurisdiction of the Maner Police Station.

The survivor hails from Jharkhand’s Sahebganj district. Maner Police Station SHO (in-charge) Mukul Ranjan Singh said that the minor’s father had married twice and her stepmother used to misbehave with her. So, she fled from her house.

The TOI reported that the SHO said that on June 15, on Renu Devi (33) brought the minor for work at a brick kiln named Sona Eit Bhatta where the girl was gangraped on Wednesday and Thursday. Police are trying to connect with the family of the survivor, the SHO added.

On Friday night, the minor approached the Maner Police Station and narrated her ordeal. Based on her complaint, seven people, including Renu, have been booked by the police.

The police immediately swung into action and arrested four of the seven accused.

Besides Renu, the three arrested accused were identified as Basu Oraon (19), Pintu Oraon (19) and Rajendra Oraon (19), all natives of Jharkhand. Three other accused are unknown and the hunt is on to identify and arrest them. The SHO told TOI, “Renu is also from Jharkhand, but has married a local person and arranges workers for the kiln.” The police sent the survivor for medical examination on Saturday.
