Bihar Board 10th Result 2020: The result of class 10th or matric exam 2020 has been announced by the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) on Tuesday in which 80.59% of students have passed.
Bihar Education Minister Krishna Nandan Prasad Verma announced the results of the Bihar Board class 10th exam. RK Mahajan, Additional Chief Secretary, Bihar Education Department along with the BSEB chairman Anand Kishor were also present when the BSEB matric exam result was declared.
This year, 14,94,071 candidates took the examination, out of which 7,29,213 were boys and 7,64,858 were girls.
A total of 12, 04,030 passed the examination in which 5,90,545 are boys and 6,13,485 girls.
Bihar Board matric result merit list will be updated soon as early as possible once it will be made available on the website.
This year, Himanshu Raj topped the exam, who secured 481 marks out of 500 with 96.20 per cent. A second position is bagged by Durgesh Kumar with 480 marks. The third rank is jointly attained by Shubham Kumar and the female topper Juli Kumari with 478 marks. The over all pass percentage is 80.59 per cent.
To pass, students should obtain 30 per cent marks in a subject individually as well as in aggregate. Moreover, those who failed in one exam with less than 8 per cent difference or two subjects with not more than 4 per cent of the difference in marks obtained will be passed on grace marks, as per norms.
The BSEB held the class 10 board exam between February 17 to 24 across 1368 exam centres. In view of the Covid-19 lockdown, the board had to suspend the evaluation work midway. The evaluation process was resumed on May 6 and was done last week.
Bihar Board announced the results of the BSEB class 12 exam 2020 on March 24, 2020. The previous year, there was an increase in the pass percentage of the students, which reached 80.73% from 68.89% in 2018.
