Siwan: In an unusual incident of dacoity, the looters allegedly raised slogans of “Modi-Modi” to trick the victims to open their doors. Once inside, the dacoits looted them, and went on to beat up the residents when they resisted, according to a News18 report.
In the incident that took place in Siwan’s Ghurghat area, near the Siwan police station, the dacoits performance the loot at resident Upendra Raj’s home. According to Raj, when they heard the slogans of “Modi-Modi”, they felt it was the members of the Bhartiya Janata Party who had arrived to ask for votes, but to their utter shock, once they opened the doors, the dacoits entered their home.
“As soon as they entered the house, they beat us up. Two women and two men received serious injuries. Following the attack, the dacoits fled with stuff worth lakhs of Rupees,” Upendra told the media outlet.
Siwan Police’s officer-in-charge Ram Balak Yadav informed that the victim’s family in their statement said, the miscreants had shouted “Modi-Modi” outside the house. The cops are investigating the case. No arrests have yet been made.
