Bihar Election Results 2020: Asauddin Owaisi's AIMIM makes an impact, leading on four seats

Bihar Assembly Election 2020 results will be announced in the late evening on November 10. The polls were held in three phases on October 28, November 3, and November 7. The term of the 243-member Bihar Legislative Assembly comes to an end on November 29. Of the total strength, 38 seats are reserved for SCs and two for STs.

The Election Commission of India is addressing the media. More than 1 crore votes have been counted and there is still significant ground to be covered in Bihar, as per the poll body. In Bihar, Asaduddin Owaisi’s party AIMIM is running ahead in five seats. If the trends turn into results, it will be a great success for AIMIM.

From Bahardurganj assembly, Mohammad Anzar Nayeemi of AIMIM is leading by a margin of 18,60 votes against Lakhan Lal Pandit of VIP.

From Amour assembly, Akhtarul Iman of AIMIM is leading against Saba Zafar of JDU by a margin of 22,122 votes. Abdul Jalil Mastan of RJD had won the seat in the year 2015.

From Kochadhaman assembly, Md Izhar Asfi of AIMIM is ahead of Mujahid Alam of JDU by a margin of 16,894 votes.

From Jokihat assembly, AIMIM’s Shahnawaz is leading by 961 votes against BJP’s Ranjit Yadav.

From Baisi assembly, Syed Rukunuddin Ahmad is leading with 43,586 votes and left behind BJP’s Vinod Kumar.

However, the latest trends show the NDA is ahead of the RJD-led Mahagathbandhan, crossing the half-way mark of 122 seats needed to secure a majority in the Bihar Assembly. While there is still time for the final results, one thing is clear the BJP that had remained a junior partner in the NDA in Bihar so far is going to end up having the upper hand. Significantly, Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party looks set to improve its tally and is leading on more numbers of seats than last time. LJP and other smaller parties may hold the key in the government formation if the NDA falls short of the half-way mark. Most exit polls had given the RJD-Congress-Left alliance a clear edge over the JD(U)-BJP coalition and has predicted that the ruling government was on its way out.
