Mokama independent MLA Anant Kumar Singh, popularly known as ‘Bahubali in Bihar’, was recently booked under Arms Act after an AK-47 rifle and several live bullets were recovered from his ancestral house on Friday during a raid which also yielded a large number of ammunition and explosives.

In the recent development, it has emerged that the criminal-turned-politician has fled from his residence in Mokama when the police went to arrest him on Saturday night.

As quoted in the reports, Patna SP Kantesh Mishra said, “We did talk to his wife but she did not divulge details, we will take further action accordingly.”

The police have charged Singh under the Arms Act, Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), and Explosive Act after they recovered an AK-47 rifle and a hand grenade from his residence in Ladma village. The police officials raided Singh’s premises in connection with a contract killing case.

Singh was recently summoned to the police headquarters in Patna for giving his voice sample in connection with a bid on the life of a Mokama-based contractor.
The tainted legislator, however, claimed that he was being hounded because he contested elections against Lalan Singh who is the JD(U) MP from Munger, the Lok Sabha constituency under which the Mokama Assembly segment falls.
