Bihar: Mob thrashes two Indian Railways engineers on suspicion of being child-lifters

The victims were attacked while they were busy conducting a survey for a new rail line project in the city.

Instances of mob attacks over rumours of child-lifting are increasing day by day. The recent in the line comes from the state of Bihar where two men were brutally thrashed by locals on suspicion of being child-lifters. The two victims have been identified as engineers working with the Indian Railways.

The incident happened in Munnichak-Sarsauna village under the jurisdiction of Bangra police station. The victims were attacked while they were busy conducting a survey for a new rail line project in the city. The mob also damaged their vehicles and snatched mobile phones.

According to the reports, a police contingent was called in to control the situation after villagers went on a rampage and attacked the policemen as well.

Meanwhile, an FIR has been registered against named persons of the village and 15 unidentified for attempt to murder, rioting, criminal assault and criminal intimidation. Efforts are on to nab those named and others.
