Bihar: RJD leader Raghuvansh Prasad Singh tests positive for COVID-19

For the first time in Bihar, a politician has been tested positive for the coronavirus.

RJD leader, Dr Raghuvansh Prasad Singh, who was admitted to the Patna AIIMS hospital on Tuesday has been tested COVID-19 positive according to the test reports that came on Wednesday. He is undergoing treatment at AIIMS Hospital, Patna.

For the first time in Bihar, a politician has been tested positive for the coronavirus.

According to a close associate, Prasad has not had fever again after his treatment started at AIIMS and his condition is stable now. He is undergoing treatment under the supervision of Dr. Ravi Kirti, HOD, Medicine at AIIMS.

The news of Raghuvansh Prasad’s illness has caused a stir in the RJD. Raghuvansh Prasad Singh is identified not only as the party’s national vice-president but also as a firefighter of the Lalu Prasad family. As soon as the news of his illness was reported, the entire party was agitated. From activists to party leaders at the top, AIIMS doctors are also constantly in touch.

Tejashwi Yadav and Rabri Devi have been constantly in touch with Raghuvansh Prasad Singh over phone.

Meanwhile, the coronavirus cases are rising gradually in Bihar. With 79 new COVID-19 patients on Wednesday, the total tally of the infection reached to 6,889 and 4,644 patients have been recovered so far. The death toll stands at 41 in Bihar.
