Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in May, 2020 urged people to help make India ‘Aatma Nirbhar Bharat’(self-reliant India). A man in Bihar’s Gopalganj district is an epitome of ‘aatma nirbharata’. Rameshwar Kushwaha, former PACs president who hails from Manjharia village of Gopalganj district, Bihar has extracted electricity from the coal prepared by ash.

Expressing his contentment, Kushwaha points out that he along with his people will leave no stone unturned to strengthen the country from an industrial point of view making India self-reliant.

On the coal making process front, the former PAC’s president had been engaged in the preparation for the last eight years. After seeing his perseverance and hard work, the then Minister of State for Animal Husbandry Giriraj Singh, officials from the Department of Sugarcane Industry, including researchers from Tanzania, Uganda, and various states of the country, have also reached Manjharia village and researched about it. The officials also offered Kushwaha all possible help and approached him for the establishment of plants in the country.

Charcoal briquettes preparation:

Ash-ready coal or charcoal briquette will be produced from rice mill vessel and dries sugarcane leaves. The process will be cost-efficient and pollution free. The ash emitted after the use of coal will be discharged into the fields. Phosphorus can be used as manure. While 96.6 percent of the ash is carbon, it is harmful to farms and the environment. As the charcoal briquette is reduced by just 45 percent, the remaining residue will be converted into phosphorus and help in increasing the fertility of the agriculture fields.

MP Satish Chandra Dubey said that the new technique to prepare charcoal briquettes initiated by Rameshwar Kushwaha is a matter of great pride for Bihar and will witness the new industrial revolution in Champaran.
