About 4 lakh Chickens have died in Haryana within a month and 53 migrant birds were found dead in Junagadh Gujarat. Other than this, about 50 plus crows were found dead in Rajasthan, 1800 migratory birds were dead in Himachal Pradesh’s Dam Lake and similarly, other parts of the nation such as Jammu Kashmir, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu have seen the similar rise in cases and has created a sense of panic all across the state.

So what is H5N1?

H5N1 is a bird flu and avian influenza, a kind of viral infection and can be transferred from birds to humans. It is highly contagious, and the first case was found in 1997 and about 60% of the people who were infected were dead.

Can avian influenza be transmitted to humans?

Yes, it can be transmitted- it is considered the biggest cause of bird flu, it is dangerous and humans can be easily infected.

  • Sore throat
  • Diarrhoea

Measures to save yourself from Bird flu

  • Stay away from birds
  • Stay Away from dead birds
  • Please avoid eating eggs and meat for the team
  • Maintain cleanliness
  • Avoid areas with infection
  • Wear a mask

Treatment for Bird Flu

It can easily be treated with few drugs such as oseltamivir Tamiflu,  Zanamivir Ralenza. A healthy diet, and many liquid floods. To prevent bird flu from spreading, the patient should be kept in isolation.
