In a bizarre incident, a man allegedly stopped his daughter-in-law from having sex with her husband because he claimed she was possessed by a ‘ghost spirit’.
As per a report in TNN, the woman who is a resident of Vadodara has now complained to the Gandhinagar police. She said her father-in-law claimed that the ‘ghost spirit’ would gain access to her husband’s body if they engaged in sexual intercourse.
When the woman protested the illogical claim, the woman was allegedly thrashed by her in-laws and her husband at their residence in Gandhinagar, said a report in Times of India.
“When I protested against their behaviour, I was mentally harassed and thrashed by my in-laws and husband,” the 43-year-old woman added in her FIR. She also claimed that her mother-in-law would provoke her father-in-law to sexually harass her. “Whenever I was alone at the house, my mother-in-law would tell my father-in-law to molest me. I was forced to leave my husband’s house on March 10. And after that, other family members had tried to reach a compromise but my in-laws refused to take me in,” she further stated in her FIR.
The couple got married at a court in Vadodara in February 2020. The 43-year-old woman hails from Alkapuri in Vadodara district, while her husband is a resident of Gandhinagar.
