Film and television artist Bobby Darling or Pankaj Sharma has filed a divorce with her husband. Bobby has undergone sex-change surgery in 2015 and married in 2016 but now she has filed divorce on the basis of being physically abused by her husband.
Her husband has questioned in counter the validity of the marriage under the Hindu Marriage Act according to a national daily’s report.
Bobby got married as a woman and decided to end marriage with husband and also cancel the flat in Oshiwara which was given as a gift deed. She has also asked for Rs 2 crore in alimony before the family court at Bandra.
The family court last September ordered to maintain the current state of affairs in terms of the property matter. Although, the case revolves around the interpretation of woman in court, whether a woman under the Hindu Marriage Act means a girl at birth, biologically by birth.
Divorce petitioner Bhavana Jadhav said that both of them are Hindus and Boby Darling has undergone sex change before getting married in a Hindu ceremony.
The plea was also filed for the ownership declaration of a Bhopal property that was purchased by Bobby Darling from his hard earned money but was made joint under pressure during her abusive marriage. She also alleged that it was declared as a gift deed under pressure.
Bobby has been part of films like Chalte Chalte, Page 3 and she was also part of Big Boss season 1.
