After series of provocative exchanges between rivalry leaders, Union skill development minister Ananth Kumar Hegde and Karnataka state Congress president Dinesh Gundu Rao, Tabu Rao responded sharply saying that, “was born a Muslim but am a proud Indian first.”
Tabu Rao slammed Union minister Anant Kumar Hegde who said Karnataka Congress chief Dinesh Gundu Rao was a “guy who ran behind a Muslim lady”.
Taking to her Facebook account, Tabu said she seemed to have become a “soft target” for Bharatiya Janata Party leaders who are “unable to politically take on” her husband. Tabu Rao said that Anant Kumar Hegde had dragged her “into political slugfest” even though she is a “private person” who does not hold any party or public position.
Tabu continued saying, ” Yes I was born a Muslim but we are proud Indians first.”
His wife Tabu, who stays away from politics, has in the past requested her husband’s political opponents not to drag her into debates.
She even took to Twitter to loud her reply. Tabu told that she was unable to make her response heard by Ananth Hegde as the minister has allegedly blocked Tanu on Twitter.

Over the weekend, Hegde, while addressing a large crowd in Karnataka has said, “We have to rethink the priorities of our society. We shouldn’t think of caste.If a Hindu girl is touched by a hand, then that hand should not exist.”
Karnataka Congress chief Dinesh Gundu Rao called out Anant Kumar Hegde for his comment this morning. In a tweet, Dinesh Gundu Rao questioned what Anant Kumar Hegde had achieved after becoming a Union minister and what he had done for Karnataka’s development.
In response, Anant Kumar Hegde tweeted, “I shall definitely answer this guy Dinesh Gundu Rao’s queries, before which could he please reveal himself as to who he is along with his achievements? I only know him as a guy who ran behind a Muslim lady.”

An infuriated Dinesh attacked Hegde for lack of manners in public discourse, saying perhaps he didn’t learn from “Hindu scriptures”.
