On Friday, a fire at the training ground of Brazil’s Flamengo football club in Rio de Janeiro has killed 10 people and three people wounded severely. The conflagration started around 5:15 am local time (12:45 pm IST) and was eventually put out around at 7:20 am (2:50 pm IST) reportedly.
The Lieutenant Colonel of the Rio fire department, Douglas Henaut confirmed to a leading Brazilian news channel that 10 people had died at the Vargem Grande training centre.
Although, there has been no confirmation yet as who the victims of the fire are. Flamengo football club are yet to make an official statement.
