Breaking: Former SP leader Amar Singh passes away in Singapore

Rajya Sabha member and former Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh passed away on Saturday afternoon at the age of 64. He was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Singapore for several months now.

A recent report published in Mumbai Mirror said he was in ICU and his family was by his side.

Back in 2013, Amar Singh had suffered kidney failure in Dubai. He returned to political life by 2016.

In March, quashing his death rumours on social media, Singh released a video on Twitter captioned, “Tiger Zinda Hai”. He said that even though his “well-wishers” wanted him dead, he is alive and well.

Amar Singh, the Bachchan family and Anil Ambani were at on point seen almost like an extended family. But way back in 2016, the relationship, at least between the Bachchans and Singhs suffered a major blow when Singh went public with his complaints against Jaya Bachchan.

Earlier in February, the Rajya Sabha MP leader has released a video expressing “regret” over his behaviour towards Amitabh Bachchan and his family. The former Samajwadi party leader recorded and posted the video on his official Facebook account after receiving Bachchan’s message on the death anniversary of his father.
