The Supreme Court has rejected the review plea filed by 7 ministers from different states across India, seeking the postponement of the NEET and JEE 2020 examinations, which are to be conducted in September 2020. The decision to reject the plea was announced by the Supreme Court today i.e. September 4.
The review plea filed by the 7 ministers from non- BJP states such as Maharashtra, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Punjab was asking the court to postpone the NEET and JEE 2020 exams for the safety of the students who are appearing for the exams in the middle of the pandemic.

Delhi government has decided to permit students from class 9 to class 12 to visit their schools from September 21. As per the guidelines by Delhi government, all schools for all the other classes will remain closed till September 30. “All schools to continue to remain closed till September 30. Students of classes 9 to 12 may be permitted to visit their schools, in areas outside containment zones only, on a voluntary basis, for taking guidance from their teachers,” the order stated.

The ministers of six non-BJP ruled states, West Bengal (Moloy Ghatak), Jharkhand (Rameshwar Oraon), Rajasthan (Raghu Sharma), Chhattisgarh (Amarjeet Bhagat), Punjab (BS Sidhu) and Maharashtra (Uday Ravindra Sawant) had filed a petition at the top court, seeking review of the its August 17 order to conduct NEET-UG and JEE Main exams in wake of the coronavirus crisis.
