The Supreme Court has rejected the review plea filed by 7 ministers from different states across India, seeking the postponement of the NEET and JEE 2020 examinations, which are to be conducted in September 2020. The decision to reject the plea was announced by the Supreme Court today i.e. September 4.

The review plea filed by the 7 ministers from non- BJP states such as Maharashtra, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Punjab was asking the court to postpone the NEET and JEE 2020 exams for the safety of the students who are appearing for the exams in the middle of the pandemic.

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Friday summoned Sushant Singh Rajput’s former manager Samuel Miranda and Rhea Chakraborty’s brother Showik in the death case of the late actor. The central probe agency has also detained Miranda under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 and he has brought to the NCB’s office in Mumbai.

 West Bengal Minister of State for Labour, Nirmal Maji was on Thursday hospitalised after he suffered a brain stroke, government sources said. The 59-year-old minister is undergoing treatment at the Bangur Institute of Neurosciences in the city.

According to data released by the National Testing Agency, 81.08 % of the registered candidates appeared for the entrance test on Day 2 and 82.14 % on Wednesday.

NEET, JEE 2020: SC dismisses review plea of 6 states seeking postponement of exams

The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed the review petition filed by six non-BJP ruled states, seeking postponement of the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main and National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2020 exams in wake of the coronavirus pandemic. The ministers of six non-BJP ruled states, West Bengal (Moloy Ghatak), Jharkhand (Rameshwar Oraon), Rajasthan (Raghu Sharma), Chhattisgarh (Amarjeet Bhagat), Punjab (BS Sidhu) and Maharashtra (Uday Ravindra Sawant) had filed a petition at the top court, seeking review of the its August 17 order to conduct NEET-UG and JEE Main exams in wake of the coronavirus crisis.

CBSE compartment exams to be held in September-end

The CBSE compartment exams would be held by September-end, the Central Board of Secondary Education told Supreme Court on Friday. SC asked CBSE to file an affidavit sharing the details of how CBSE will be carrying out the exams. The CBSE compartment exams 2020 will be written by 1,50,198 students from class 10 and 87,651 students from class 12.
