Rhea Chakraborty, facing multiple investigations in the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, filed a police complaint against the actor’s sister Priyanka Singh today over a “bogus medical prescription” allegedly to enable the actor to access anxiety medication that cannot be prescribed electronically.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Ram Nath Kovind scheduled to inaugural session of the Governors’ Conference on National Education Policy (NEP) on Monday at 10:30 AM. The Conference titled “Role of NEP-2020 in Transforming Higher Education” will also be attended by education ministers of all states. It is being organized by the Union Ministry of Education and will be held through a video conference.

Indian Railways will be running 40 new pair of trains from September 12. The booking for these trains will begin from September 10. These pair of trains are apart from the 115 pair of special trains that are begin run by the Indian Railways after regular trains were suspended in March due to the COVID-19 lockdown.

The metro authorities of Delhi, Noida, Chennai, Kochi, Bengaluru, Mumbai Line-1, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Maha Metro (Nagpur), Kolkata, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh have prepared their standard operating procedures. Maharashtra will not be resuming metro operation this month.

Several Bollywood personalities, including actors Taapsee Pannu, Swara Bhasker, Shibani Dandekar, and filmmaker Anubhav Sinha, have criticised media persons mobbing actor Rhea Chakraborty, flouting all standard protocols amid the COVID-19 pandemic, after she reached the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) office in Mumbai on Sunday.

With 90,802 new COVID-19 cases reported in the last 24 hours, the tally in India has now breached the 42 lakh mark. Of the 42,04,614 cases, over 32 lakh patients have been discharged, while nearly 8.9 lakh infections are still active. The toll stands at 71,642 with 1016 deaths reported on Sunday. Maharashtra reported the fastest growth is coronavirus infection in August, registering over 3.70 lakh cases, a senior state health official said.

India has overtaken Brazil to now become the country with the second-largest number of people infected with the novel coronavirus. Brazil, according to the latest figures from the World Health Organisation, has 40.41 lakh infected people. Only the United States, where more than 60 lakh people have so far been infected, is ahead of India now. This is the first time that India has reported over 90,000 new cases.
