In the wake of rising cases of coronavirus, the Delhi government on Tuesday decided to impose night curfew in the national capital from Today till April 30. As per order from the Delhi government, the night curfew will be in place from 10 PM till 5 AM.


In a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has urged Centre to further lower the age group eligible for vaccination to 25 years in order to curb the intensity of the rising cases in Maharashtra.

While Maharashtra has already imposed a limited lockdown, on Monday night, a proposal to bring back night curfew in Delhi was sent to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal by top officials of the city’s administration.

India recorded more than one lakh COVID-19 cases on Sunday, the highest daily increase recorded in the country since the beginning of the pandemic. The previous high of 97,894 cases was achieved on September 16 last year, after which India’s cases started sliding.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers across the country on Tuesday on the occasion of the 41st foundation day of the party. BJP national president JP Nadda will also address the meeting which will be held through video conferencing and will be streamed live from 10:30 am.

Polling in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Puducherry, West Bengal, and Assam will begin from 7 am and shall go on till 7 pm, with the last one hour dedicated for COVID-19 positive patients to cast their votes.
