Breaking News LIVE, July 25: The cavalcade escorting President-elect Droupadi Murmu and Ram Nath Kovind has reached the Parliament House, where they were welcomed by Vice President Venakaiah Naidu, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and CJI NV Ramana.

President-elect Droupadi Murmu will take oath as the 15th President of India on Monday. The ceremony of the assumption of office will take place in the Central Hall of Parliament.

Chief Justice of India N.V. Ramana will administer the oath of office of the highest constitutional post of the country to Murmu.

The oath ceremony will be followed by a 21-gun salute. After the gun salute, she will address the gathering at the Central Hall as the 15th President of India.

Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, and other dignitaries will be present.

Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh are likely to receive intense rainfall over the next two days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said, adding that downpours in north India are expected to resume after July 28.

Delhi Police arrests 3 members of gang from Gujarat for cheating people online

The police have arrested three members of a gang from Gujarat which cheated people by persuading them online to buy packaging materials in bulk and disappeared after taking advance from them, officials said on Monday. The accused have been identified as Jitendra Kumar Chauhan (35), Parmar Dilipbhai (47) and Pawar Shyam (44), all residents of Ahmedabad, they said. The matter came to light in February after northeast Delhi-resident Nitin Jain lodged a complaint, saying he responded to an online advertisement of adhesives following which he received a call during which adhesive material was offered to him at a good price, police said.

She was greeted by outgoing President Ram Nath Kovind at the Rashtrapati Bhavan from where they made their way to the Parliament House. The swearing-in ceremony is set to begin at 10.15 am in Parliament.
