3:40 PM| Robbers attempt to loot a cash transfer van in Muzaffarpur, Bihar. A case has been registered and an investigation is underway. Police said, “Due to swift action taken by an ASI, the attempt to loot cash van failed. The driver of the cash van received a gunshot injury.”


3:15 PM| Comedian Bharti Singh and her husband Harsh sent to judicial custody till December 4. The couple was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). While Bharti was arrested on Saturday, her husband was placed under arrest on Sunday after being questioned for 12 hours. They were arrested after seizure of ganja (cannabis) from her house in suburban Andheri by NCB sleuths. Both Singh and her husband are accused of consuming ganja, an NCB official said.

10:15 AM| With 45,209 new COVID-19 cases and 501 deaths in the last 24 hours, the total number of positive coronavirus cases in India reached 90.95 lakh on Sunday morning, government data showed.

Maharashtra remains the top affected state in the country with over 17.74 lakh cases. There are over 80,000 active cases in the state and the last 24 hours, Maharashtra recorded 5,760 cases. The total number of deaths in the state is over 46,000. The other top affected states are Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu.


Four suspected criminals have been arrested and the properties of five others have been seized as part of a crackdown in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad district, police said.

Senior Superintendent of Police Kalanidhi Naithani told PTI that stringent action would be initiated against all “criminals”, 132 of whom had been identified so far after the operation started on October 18.

Four alleged contract killers — Anil Panda, Manoj Sharma, Vipin Mishra, and Arpan Chaudhary — have been arrested. Illegal properties of five gangsters worth Rs 15 crore have been seized, the officer said, according to India TV.

Air quality in Delhi continues to stay in ‘poor’ category. As per Central Pollution Control Board, AQI is at 260 in Punjabi Bagh.
