CBSE decision on pending exams: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will announce the complete details of holding remaining exams for class 10th and 12th on Thursday, June 25, 2020.
CBSE has responded to the Supreme Court that it still needs time before declaring the final decision on remaining exams. The Supreme Court will decide on whether or not to hold the pending class 10 and class 12 board exams on Thursday.
Solicitor General (SG) Tushar Mehta has informed, “The discussions are at an advanced stage. By tomorrow evening, the decision will be finalised.”
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) exams were slated to start from July 1 to 15 but after resistance from parents and students because of the rising coronavirus cases, the government and the central board are rethinking their decision.
The CBSE case is still ongoing in the Supreme Court and the next hearing is deferred till 2 PM, Thursday. The CBSE was supposed to announce the final decision today, which would impact over 30 lakh students.
Petition filed against CBSE
Many parents have been running a campaign on social media against CBSE Board exams. As coronavirus cases are increasing day by day, parents do not think it is safe for the board to hold the remaining exams.
When the Supreme Court asked the CBSE Board in the same matter of concern, it replied, the decision will be out shortly.
Parents are also demanding students to be marked based on the internal assessment or through online exams.
CBSE Class 10 and 12 board exams were slated to be held from July 1 to 15.
